My name is Lori Hershberger.
I am a seeker. I know that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and I will continue to seek to know Him better till the day I die.
I am 26 years old and live in Thailand, far from the place I call home. I come from a conservative Anabaptist culture and I am learning to love deeply the land and the people I am serving right now, but I also ache at times with that strange ripping, tearing feeling inside of me that comes from having my own culture stripped away and my own people far away.
Writing is an outlet for me, a way of releasing pent-up emotions, of processing and remembering events, or giving voice to those happenings that simply have to be retold. I love to write and long to wield my pen more effectively and with greater skill.
I enjoy reading and writing, horseback riding, milking cows, chocolate chip cookies and a tall glass of raw milk, rainy days and hot lattes and anything coffee, rivers and great blue prairie skies, snow swirling down from a silent winter sky, tasting foreign foods, laughter with friends, black, white and red cows grazing on green pastures, solitude time, living on the edge, horse and buggy rides, old style German singing, teaching, travelling, exploring the mountain regions of Thailand, and wheat harvest. (not necessarily all in that order).
Poetry is another love of mine, and my first book of poetry was published two years ago, entitled, Echoes of Eternity.
